Where I live there's a bus every half hour thisaway round the circular route and one bus every half hour thataway round he route the other way. When they arrive is, however, random.So I stand at the bustop where I can't see the bus coming because of a corner, and look down the straight part of the road for buses coming the other way ( Read more... )

That TV thing is interesting. How does that work, exactly? Does the UK have cable/satellite TV and the like or is it an entirely different system?

I like the one about the Queen. That's funny. :D

Basically, there are 2 Government-funded channels that it is compulsory to subscribe to if you hsve a TV. The cost of these channels is 120 pounds per year.

It doesn't matter if you have cable, sattelite, or just terrestrial TV. You still have to pay for the Government-approved 2 terrestrial channels as a compulsory subscription. Or risk a massive fine if you're caught.
