Saw Danny Baker's Rockin' Decades - they had 3 programmes for the 70s, 80s and 90s with different guests on each show talking about the music of that decade with him interspersed with some clips. Finally read The Singer by Cathi Unsworth which was the only one of her novels I hadn't read. It's about a journalist who decides to write a book about a punk band whose lead singer went missing + is presumed dead so it alternates chapters between the late 70s (describing the story of the band + those around them) and 2002 or so when the present ( Read more... )

Finished reading this and I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. RH is perhaps best known for being part of the New York punk scene in the 70s and being in bands like Television, The Heartbreakers (w/Johnny Thunders) and The Voidoids.
