Got new book on the history of the Riverside (this was a legendary gig/club venue in newcastle that ran from the mid 80s to about 1999 & started off as a workers co-operative). I saw Siouxsie & the Banshees at the Mayfair in early 1995, which must have been not long before it closed down. I was about 8 months pregnant at the time, so I have an inkling that this may have been a factor in my older daughter turning out to have decided goth/emo tendences! (She wears an awful lot of black *g*)

I think in the Riverside book they said it closed about 1999 & clearly you cannot deny the power of Siouxsie *g*

I was very fond of the Mayfair as a gig venue.
