Well, my life has been a bit roller-coastery since that last post... I got pink eye again (or something that feels a heckova lot like it), and so I was at home the rest of the week, spending a lot of time writhing in bed with my eyes closed. I'm not the sort of person to be happy to be coming back to work, but I was definitely happy to be coming ( Read more... )

related to computers....I pulled a blueray player from my old computer and installed it into the new one, but can't figure out how to hook it up to the power supply...suggestions for websites that might walk me through it?

Look at this picture:

Does either of the two ends of this cable look like it would fit onto your blueray drive? The one on the right is an old fashioned Molex connector, and the one on the left is the newer kind of connection for SATA drives. I tend to expect power supplies to have both kinds of connectors, but the Molex connector should be guaranteed. They tend to be daisy-chained together, so look at the power supply cables already connected to your old CD/DVD Rom devices and hard drives and see if any extra plugs are tethered to them. If you find a spare plug, there's no reason you can't use it as the power source for your new device. Hope that helps!
