I've come down with Pink Eye, so I'm staying home from work today (and yesterday) to try to get over it. It's frustrating because I can't look at a computer screen for more than a few minutes, even with the good eye, without going a little bit mad ( Read more... )

How about listening to podcasts or audiobooks? They're my fallback when my sinuses are acting up and visual focus is extra-tiring.

Don't tell Steph, but I've actually spent most of the day cleaning the kitchen. We'll see if she notices...

Besides that, I have been listening to music--unfortunately, my most robust music option is currently tied to the computer. Thanks for the suggestion!

Ah, the feeling of being unemployed.

In order to keep sane I've been taking on personal projects and setting myself a schedule. It's helped a lot so I don't feel as if I'm doing nothing, though I'm still not as productive as if I had a real job.

Don't worry. At least your situation is only for a few days.

If you knoew how to use the screen reading software I use on my comp, you'd be able to type all your LJ entries with your eyes closed. lol

Yeah, but that's not freeware. I know, because I installed it on one of the computers on campus when I worked at Truman. In fact, from what I've heard, it's pretty expensive!

Yeah, but there is one that's free it's called System Access to Go. I wish JAWS wasn't so expensive, I don't understand why it has to be. I know it's a nitch market, but still. We really need to get together sometime. Grace and I have a Christmas gift for the two of you. Let me know what works for you.
