Releasing Fears Into the Unknown

Today I dropped off my entry to the University Press for the T.S. Eliot Prize for Poetry. That's three years of collected poetry, 62 pieces, to be precise, many of them having seen multiple drafts. Aww, I wish I knew there was such a thing. Ahh well, my project is long enough but still not finished anyway, and I plan to battle for my publishing deal the old fashioned way -- by sending it everywhere and getting tons of regections! ^^

"Christian nation"...

...I'm sorry, I can't help but shudder whenever I hear those words next to each other. Especially in reference to the nation in with I am currently residing it. So yes. *shudders violently and resists urge to rant*

I'm with you. I just returned from attending the Missouri Baptist Convention and I really wanted to strangle some people. With the election coming up next week, I heard this phrase a lot. You'd think they would know better: only individuals have souls to be saved, so only individuals can BE Christian. The terms "Christian" and "nation" are mutually exclusive ( ... )
