I reserve my vote until later, as I can't decide between Mississippi, Alabama and West Virginia. Considering that Mississippi just ratified the Thirteenth Amendment (symbolically, but whatever) in 1995, that's pretty horrible. Add the hurricanes and overwhelmingly conservative politics, and you may have a winner.
On the other hand, West Virginia has the worst economy, and pretty horrible diversity (96% white). I'd be inclined to give them the nod, if not for the fact that they have a lot of poor coal miners there, and I can't really hate too much on people put into harsh circumstances and still work hard for little pay (and many of them vote Democrat).
Alabama looks to be a distant third at the moment, as I can't hate on a state that was a focal point of the Civil Rights movement.
