We were just outside with Daisy, and we noticed she was investigating...something. Since it was at the other end of the yard, we couldn't tell what it was, only that she was in her "hesitant sniffing" mode...sniff, back up, go forward, sniff, back up, etc

dude that is pretty cool actually.....the only time I've ever seen a opossum do this was about three feet in front of my speeding car :(

Paul used to get possums at his house, eating the cat food on the porch. Sometimes the cats would corner one, and there would be hissing and screeching all around, until he went out and grabbed the cats so the possum could get away. Once in a while, we'd go out there at night and one would scamper off and we'd see those beady red eyes glowing behind a bush or across the yard. I like animals, but they're just creepy, ugly little critters.

Years and years ago while standing a midwatch I had one of those buggers walk up to me, sniff my shoe, and toddle of to where ever it was going. Apparently this is odd behavior for them, but after a squirrel literally climbed up my leg while begging for food on the Mall in DC I just figured there was something in the water in Rock Creek.

Ugly little fuckers, aren't they?
