Guess Jenae's Summer Job!

My job entails...

Distributing navy blue mesh bags.

Smiling.

Folding clothing perfectly.

Organizing plastic decks of cards with numbers on them.

Smiling.

Knowing where all storage items are located.

More smiling.

That's right. I'm a sales associate at the Gap making nearly minimum wage at $7.00 an hour ( Read more... )

Thanks! :)

Unfortunately, it's pretty far away (Folsom Outlet Mall. It's about five minutes away from my house, but it's probably not so close for you). You can come visit me if you'd like, but it would be quite a drive!

I'm actually not sure when I start. They didn't tell me. I'll probably start after graduation though, I hope!

yays for jenae-nay :D
not to burst your bubble or anything, but you'll find you really hate working in retail after about a week or two. Especially 'cause customers can be really bitchy/mean sometimes. Like when there's long lines or you don't carry their size jeans :\.
Anyways, the good news is I've heard working at Borders really sucks because the managers are bitches and won't stand up for you and you spend most of the time you could be looking at books, looking for their proper place since people never put anything away. So at least Gap > Borders :D :D :D

hmmmm I'm going to come visit you! tell me when you work

Yeah... I know retail is not ideal or anything, but I think it's going to be a good experience if nothing else. If nothing else, I'll have some great stories to tell by the end of it all.

I'm not sure when I start, actually! I have orientation next Tuesday for 4 hours and then I think they'll get me my schedule? I'll let you know, though, since you're like the one person who lives relatively close to the Outlet Mall.

You should get a job there this summer, too! We can go on our lunch breaks together! :D

Hehe... yeah... it definitely won't be horrible. :)

Are you getting a job this summer?

I don't know how far you live from the Outlets, but I know there are still a lot of positions available there if you're interested. I don't know exactly how many the Gap is hiring, but I know they need a lot more at the Outlets because they're opening up a new Baby Gap outlet where they'll need workers. Just a thought if you're interested. :)
