Now with less plague!

I'm feeling a lot better overall. I have a clean place and nommy foods and I'm heading to Riverfire tonight for the first time ever - the most senior Gin Club lady's birthday is today and we're celebrating at her hotel room in the city. Hopefully we'll have a good view of the proceedings. But, even if we don't, we can always head outside and then ( Read more... )

C'mon Australia, get a grip! Actually, at this point it's mostly O.o

Also, glad you're feeling better :)

Honestly, have we ever had this much faffing about after an election? Come on! I just want to get back to my usual level of YAY/*facepalm*/RAEG spectrum of political interest.

ME TOO. Still have vague sniffles and ... er... may be slightly less than sober right now, but am feeling human at least!

Sober, schmober. Alcohol is medicinal, or something.

Also, that link to cleolinda was deadly. I spent hours chortling at her Twilight stuff. I don't condone the multilevel craptasticness of them, but I do in good conscience have to acknowledge that internet reactions to them have given me a LOT of amusement. So there's that.

I sometimes suspect that our politics IS 97% faffing, but they're usually better at covering it.

(Not that this has anything at all to do with the current Australian political climate, but a long time ago I read, chuckled, and bookmarked this John Rogers blog post on a Bush policy speech, way back when. Might cheer you up in that whoever we're voting for, Abbot is still not equivalent to Dubbya.)

I've been reading Rogers over at Kung Fu Monkey for a couple of years in relation to Leverage and I really like him. I think that 'like' got bumped up to 'love and cherish'. ♥ in my eyes! And yeah, okay, he's not exactly the same as Dubya but it's not like he's far off. (Barnaby Joyce? Or do we need to go to Family First for a true Dubya Equivalency? Hm. Fielding.)

Cleolinda's really good value. Even if a lot of her stuff is on Twilight (about the last year and a half it's heavy on it). Definitely check out the Movies in 15 Minutes recaps and if you do podcasts, Made of Fail is pretty excellent and she pops up fairly regularly. This one is a great ep.

Wow. I wish we had a festival like that. :) I'm afraid the closest we get is the Eugene Celebration--which I just looked up on line and discovered that there was a lot more cool stuff I didn't know about. Film Festival? Really?

Anyway. I'm glad the plague is winding down. And yay for potential moneys!!

(won't comment on the political stuff, because I STILL don't understand your guys' political system).
