I have a work colleague who keeps trying to friend me on Facebook. I don't quite have the nerve to tell her I'll never friend her in a thousand years, but every time I see her she reminds me. What to do?

Tell her you only use Facebook to connect with family or to play a certain game.

This is exactly the reason I deleted my FB account - though to be fair, it wasn't just insistent co-workers. I was being badgered by every unwelcome acquaintance I ever had. *facepalm*

I suppose it depends on what your objection is. You could friend her and then unfollow her (click on the down arrow in the upper right of one of her posts and select "unfollow"). Then you wouldn't see her posts. She'd see yours though. To prevent that, you'd have to click the tab that on my feed is marked "public" on every post and select the option that allows you to exclude individuals. That would be a pain.

I'd just keep saying I forgot and hope she gives up.

My main objection is that I won't friend people I don't like or have nothing in common with. :>) I have friends on Facebook and LJ across the world that I've never met but we have a lot of shared interests.
