A lot of pressure!

I'd just like to say that Philosophy of Religion is my favorite class...ever. Not only does the professor (Dr. Stephen Parrish) have a great sense of humor, but he makes us think philosophically/critically and allows us to go off topic constantly. The other day we discussed our perception. We mulled over the thought that we could be completely ( Read more... )

wow. your philosophy teacher makes you think philosophically?? that's amazing.

haha.

and i like your little disclaimer.

-Part B-

If God were to go against the very nature of God, it would literally tear him apart and destroy him.

isnt it human nature to be sinful? so if i repent of my sins, and eventually go to heaven where there is no sin, wont i be going against my own nature? yet it would not destroy me.

i'm just not sure i agree with that statement, or at least how you worded it.

not that it's relevant, because God is not going to sin. :)

I was making up some great philosophical response when I realized it made no sense. I probably worded what I said wrong. In fact, I'm pretty sure I left something out as my attention was divided between Dr. Parrish and a fellow student at one point. They way he explained it all sounded really cool.

I am so jealous.. I wish i were in that class... I am very excited to hear that you are finding something very stimulating about a class here at CUAA, because I remember last year you were saying how classes weren't causeing you to think very much, or at least in a way that you want to be forced to think in. I am VERY excited to hear this.

I had that course at Mott, and it was amazing. the teacher there was great, and since it was mott there were plenty of amusing potheads there too. I'd say that was one of the more strengthnening things for my faith, even despite (or because) the teacher was an agnostic.

do all denominations specifically believe that Christ is God on earth, though? I though some made distinctions between God incarnate and Son of God.

All Christian denominations believe Christ is God. Unless there are some that I don't know about that say otherwise.
