Only a couple of weeks ago now a light plane crashed here in Australia that had a long standing television reporter on-board. I can't really wrap my head around why that makes it seem worse, or more worthy of attention, or more affecting, but for some reason it really does.

I didn't know the name you mentioned so I looked him up.

Life and death. Why so ever bizarre?!

I think it feels bigger because is people we "know". We see them every day. And then, suddenly, we don't. When complete strangers die it can be sad, but we never really saw them alive, it can't get us the same way. Plus, plane crashes are just awful and rare, it ends up being a bigger deal, specially if you can't find the bodies afterward. If you add the fact that the ones doing the rescue effort are the same people that lost their loved ones just a year ago and they haven't found *their* bodies yet (and most likely never will), it makes the situation all the more horrible.

But yeah, hi!! How are you? I've had a crappy couple of weeks, but I haven't feel like talking about it just yet. Tell me something good so I can cheer up a bit, please?

Es surreal, de un dìa para otro el compadre que habla con otros mientras uno toma desayuno o hace aseo o se prepara para irse... plop. Se fue, y para siempre.

Acá en la UFT está la grande, porque Felipe Cubillos era pariente del rector - creo que era el hermano o el primo, no me acuerdo. Le han hecho misa y todo.
