Haha, I'm so glad you did a post... because, tbh (and in reply to how does waltzmatildah do this every week?) I can't be bothered this week! Haha
( ... )
In my case, I like documentaries, in part, because I enjoy the format of the narrative. It's an interesting editing construction that makes me think of the things I learned back in my video and film class. I guess I paid more attention to how things had to be filmed to make it feel like a documentary than the actual result.
My only excuse for them not talking about the gunman himself and the 11 deaths was because the focus of the story was to see the hospital "moving on". Personally, I think that's crap. You have to make the doctors talk about what happened to make them cry to get more viewers, the crew was actually too "classy" for my taste. It felt more like a documentary of a hospital in a day's work that just happened to have a gunman shooting people left and right a few months ago. It's funny to think that the documentary idea would have worked better *without* the shooting involve...
But Alex was pretty damn awesome in it! The crew was totally in love with him ♥
Alex was so awesome, Lexie was so funny loved her as always and her getting marks coffee made me so ship happy lol. Sad that Mary died that seemed very harsh whenthe husband said I bought you yellow flowers today I was like noooooooo!
Cristina needs to get back now. Next week looks good I think Alex works with new paeds attending so excitedabout who's playing him. Also I doubt that callie will go to Africa
There's a new paeds attending? interesting. Is it Peter MacNicol? That's even more interesting! Alex *not* interacting with a "chick"! I want to see what can come out of it.
Not a big fan of Mark and Lexie as a couple, but my only excuse for that scene is that Lexie *wanted* to be nice and bring coffee to Mark, and that's very shippy, I guess XD I liked her scene with Alex better, you can tell he said something snarky that made her push him away like that <3
Yeah, that spoiler you mentioned at the end of your post involves the new paeds attending... apparently he's useless and that's why Alex is running around like a chook...
I also liked Lexie's scene with Alex better, the snarky shove response was very 'familiar' and makes me think their differences have definitely been resolved off screen :(
And it gets more interesting! I just thought Alex was gonna end up in charge of everything because there wasn't gonna be a new attending. This is more plausible, at least. I did see April in a few photos of that episode looking all shocked and distressed, so maybe she's the one who ends up sick. I want to say it will be a good thing, if she finally gets some focus about *her* issues after the shooting (and trying to cover them up by overworking), but I'm assuming the writers are gonna me me find it annoying :| lets see, maybe we will get lucky...
I rather have Lexie and Alex resolving their issues off screen than not at all, though. That's how it would have probably happen otherwise...
I'm sad we barely got any April in this, and so little Lexie. ... With the theme of the documentary, it would have been nice if she got to talk about Mr Clark for a bit, something to make a connection as to WHY there was a shooting in the hospital in the first place! YES! I agree completely (also on the April bit). Foolishly, I had actually HOPED for something like Lexie talking about Mr Clark's wife. I'm so sad they missed this opportunity. :(
Instead, they show us Lexie stuck in security on the pretext of having to get coffee for Mark?! WTF?! That's a sad piece of characterization. *sigh* And I'm also very curious now what Lexie and Jackson would say when they find out how Lexie's actions caused Jackson's distress (and yes, I know that this is never going to be mentioned again on the show).
I'm only glad there was a lot of awesome Alex to enjoy. ♥
This is why I have another show in my head called Karev's Anatomy. In it, we do have a scene where *someone* gets angry at Lexie for causing such a commotion, it was dangerous! And April would have mention to her what happened with Jackson (in angry tones, even!), which would make Lexie feel bad, and the three of them would go out for a beer. It's a very simple, plausible scene, right?
The coffee thing pissed me off a little. They have invisible interns for that! Mark wouldn't have kick her out of such a cool surgery to get him coffee. But maybe she wanted to be nice and brought coffee for him? umm...
I don't actually remember the patient dying. I probably wasn't paying that much attention to that scene, it bugged me the little effort Jackson's actor did at making CPR believable so I tuned out. It someone died, yes, Lexie should have been fired in a heart beat! It's not something forgivable, no matter how you look at it and the hospital's legal team would have stopped the documentary from filming right away.
I do remember Lexie's scene being taken from the security camera, no from the documentary crew, they did take care of that part...
