That was wonderful. I love the characterisations of Mohinder and Matt with their constrasting lives/social status reflected in their fighting styles. I loved the integration of Matt's ability into the medieval world as well, so neatly done :D

I'm so very pleased you enjoyed it, kethni! I've been reading a lot of Sword and Sorceress books lately (collections of short fantasy stories, always with a prominant female character) so I was really in a fantasy groove. The "spell in the blood" I adapted from a similar idea in the short story "Unbinding Spell" by Andrea Chodan, in S&S XV. I like that magic, in whatever form it takes, cannot always be constrained by us mere humans.
