I'm glad you like it! Oh heaven yes, did I make a hash of my genders? It's be a long time since high school French.

More a hash of accord than of genders. It's "mon amie" and not "ma amie", not because "amie" is masculin, but because it starts with a vowel.
It's "mon petit chou" and not "ma petite chou", because "chou" is masculin, and there is no accord with th gender of the person.

I know very well the feeling, I'm working on my German now and it's been a long time since middle-school :)
