St.Petersburg, embankment near State University. On the other bank of Neva-river there're St. Isaac Cathedral (XIX century, architect Monferrend, the former principal cathedral of the Russian capital, the largest one in St.Petersburg able to accommodate about 10000 audiences. It's graced with 112 solid granite columns weighting up to 114 tons each, and about 400 relieves and bronze sculptures) and Admiralty (One of the first structures to be built in St Petersburg. It was designed to be a dockyard, where some of the first ships of Russia's Baltic fleet were built, and also fortified to be an extra defense for the Neva delta. Today's Admiralty is a marvelous example of the Russian Empire style, with rows of white columns, plentiful reliefs and statues. The gilded spire of the Admiralty and particularly its weather-vane little ship on the top are famous St. Petersburg landmarks).
Btw, have you managed to convince your professor? =)
