I've never been impressed with Salinger. I feel like he's the go-to author for those trust fund babies you speak of. Then again, I just read Catcher in the Rye so I can't be a fair reader.
I think reading all of Faulkner's work is required for Mississippians. I feel like I read at least half of his stuff even before I graduated high school. ha!
I'll tell you who I'm impressed with...Kerouac. Never thought I'd jump on that train, but I love it.
I was such a terrible high school student. I think half of my poetry assignments I turned in Bad Religion lyrics. I am glad Faulkner was forced on to me. Does a person well.

I can understand hating a character like Inspector Javert or something but I was just annoyed with all the children. I don't know man. I am still can't decide.
