New Computer Time?

It's time to replace my MacBook, and I'm very conflicted about how to go about doing so.
Why? Requirements. Likeable features. )

I tried really hard to find alternatives but, it's really because LiveJournal is still the only platform that has all the features I want:
1. Ability to migrate out of LiveJournal if necessary
2. Calendar reviewing for history
3. Threaded commenting
4. Private, Friends only, Friend Group security features
5. Full HTML editing mode available
6. Style customization and custom stylesheets
7. iOS and Android app
8. Jamie already uses it, and others use it if I can convince them to sign in again...

I haven't seriously used LiveJournal since 2006, but here we are 7 years later, and there's no viable alternative.

I recommend lenovo. The only thing i wish i had researched more on my lenovo was the camera quality. Mine came with a pretty low quality cam... which stinks bc I like to skype. Everything else has been great!

I had an xps and it was constantly breaking down. I went through 3 chargers a new mother board and a new screen. Plus other problems I cannot remember. Good thing it was under warranty... but I will probably never get a Dell again.

Thanks Jackie!

I've used a number of Dells and only one had a serious problem so I don't know. The hardware appeals to me at the moment is all, but it's still ranking about third right now.

I Skype from my desktop using my DSLR... haha. Overkill, but the picture quality is fan-tas-mic.

theverge.com has in-depth reviews of all the above (better than engadget these days). S7 is the most spec'ed out but has garbage battery life, other two have garbage touchpads. really, you can't win right now unless you spring for a decked out s7+batterypack[whenever it comes out] or air/retina and boot camp it.

Thanks Kenneth. I like the Verge too - Josh Topolsky is a pretty amazing journalist and entrepreneur.

A MacBook Air 13 MD232LL/A upgraded to 256 GB SSD and 8 GB running Windows 8 in Fusion 5 would be my system setup of choice, but it's a tad high on the price range. I'd like to spend around $1,300 if possible.

If that's the case, I'd just grab the 8/128 air (~1270ish) and embrace the cloud. Can always get the OWC Auras if you run out of space.

Dude... go non-retina 15" Macbook Pro + 3rd party upgrade (16GB RAM and 512GB OCZ Vertex4 SSD)

Or if you're feeling especially baller... go 15" MBP retina.

I'd love a MBP13Retina, but it's out of my price range at the moment. I travel a lot so 14" is as big as I'm willing to go. Even with elite status Economy Comfort or Domestic First upgrades, anything larger just doesn't work on a plane...

Time to ruminate, but I think the MD231LL/A 8/128 is, in fact the way to go even though I'll miss the storage space. That is, what the iMac at home is for... Looks like Apple buying will continue Next, figure out how to score the most points for buying... Andrew help! Haha.
