I just don't have any compelling reason to stay here anymore. I think it makes me look amateurish and I really don't need any help with that from third parties.
I will still be able to follow those few of you who post here out of my RSS reader but it feels foolish to operate a blog here solely so I can read three other people's blogs in one place..
JESUS< it's tough to quit LJ outright. It used to be something grand, and warm, and homey. Thanks to FB it's a ghost town, a seaside vacation village where Disney built a resort next to. Memories and chipping paint. Old-timers talking about blogs of days gone by...
I'll keep it up as long as they'll not shut themselves down, but my recent LIFE is on here. Damn. Damn, damn.
Yeah man, I know it. I went back and archived all my old posts and the very first one says, basically,t hat I only joined so I could keep up with all my friends who are on here. Now there's almost nobody left.
The technology is old, the business model is old, and they just can't keep the spammers out. I'll keep this account open but I'm not going to link to it anymore and new content needs to go where people will see it.
It's a bit hokey but it works okay once you figure it out. Downloads everything into html. Didn't take too long, but I didn't download any pictures or comments; just the journal entries.
I think that one is PC only. You might have better luck with one of the Mac clients:
