I got laid off today. So did 30 of my fellow senior managers. My last day is the 16 of Dec (happy birthday Jay). I got a decent severance package. I’m now trying to find out if I can collect and get my severance at the same time..

Are they paying your severance out overtime starting after the 16th of December, or are they going to pay you in a lump sum?

I'm not sure how it works in Rhode Island, but in Texas, I was only able to collect unemployment once I was completely taken off the payroll when I was laid off. However, I was given 60 day WARN pay, so it was a little bit different.
