Splenda is apparently six times sweeter than sugar, Equal twice as sweet as sugar. This according to some expert-type person on The Today Show this morning. My father is diabetic, as well as his mother and a couple siblings. I have to be careful with all my other stuff.

So we always use Splenda. Have for a couple years now. None of us even have regular sugar around. I tend to not buy much pre-made food anymore (EVERYTHING has wheat in it) and the few times I've needed sugar for things, I've just used Splenda and not had a problem with the flavor.

But I don't make things like cakes and cookies and other baked stuff. I don't know if maybe the people who make "sugar-free" things add extra to make up for the sugar. Maybe?
