unfortunately, just as happened in California, this was a supreme court decisions invalidating an earlier ballot measure, much like happened here. Which means there will likely be another ballott meaure in Iowa to amend the constitution, and for that, the bigots will come out, just like they did here.

here's hoping, though ... man, if Iowa could pull it off and we can't ... then it is time for us to hang up our "world's most liberal state" embroidered jackets. (of course, I live in Rednecktopia, so was not surprised by the prop 8 vote).
