Arrgh! Not you too with Twilight! I was told to read that series as "the next Harry Potter." All it does is raise my blood pressure. This has got to be one of the most antifeminist books ever! All I want to do is give Bella a cup of "stop being a douche" juice! (And yes, I just finished the 3rd book.)

Glad dad is doing a little better.

yup, me too with twilight. since i never got into harry potter, i can't say whether it's the next harry potter or not. i realize what the book is and what it isn't. she certainly isn't a strong female figure...pure rescue damsel...but, hell, it's about as far away from my life as i can get. that's entertainment!

1. if you don't feel prepared to take the GRE, don't take it, plain and simple. do NOT make the mistake i made (several years ago) by having a major nervous breakdown the night before you were supposed to take the GRE and then not even showing up for the test. big waste of money and energy on my part. i used to be an SAT tutor, so i would love to help you on the GRE math if you'd like. let me know, ok? (i miss helping people who actually want to learn, so this would be my pleasure.)

2. yay for your pops eating ice cream! i know how major that is. i'm so happy to hear that.

m=5+3n, so
2(5+3n) + 4n=20
10 + 6n +4n =20
10 + 10n =20
n= 1
then,
m-3 =5
m=8
and therefore 2(8) + 4= 20

these were the only problems i liked. i hated the "A" can sit next to "B" on tuesday, but only if "C" is also next to "A" on monday and wednesday, but "D" also wants to sit next to "B" but only if "E" is on the left of "C".. blah blah blah.

also, dad actually being excited to do stuff is so effing monumental that i can't even really articulate it. he has spent many days laying around being asleep and mumbling that his looking forward to something is miraculous. yes, i realize he's healing from surgery and needs sleep, but it's been more than that. i think his depression is improving. he was downright peppy tonight...relatively.

only slightly vaguely realted comment: a small town in oregon called Silverton just elected what is beleived to be the first transgender (male with tigs) elected official as mayor. the "god hates fags" church came out to protest them, and one of the teenage girls was wearing a "twilight" t-shirt.

we all died.

btw something like 30% of the population of the entire city came out to counter-protest. YAY!

a friend told me that later in the series, after bella marries edward and he impregnantes her, with a vampire baby, that is going to come screeching and tearing and biting and sucking blood and bursting its way out of her uterus, she's like, "I can't have an abortion, it's my baby!"
