Thank you for sharing your fandom (and Faberry) story. That feeling of falling in love with a fandom is almost as good as falling in love for real-but it can break your heart almost the same way, too. I'm grateful that the fandom of my heart is still kicking almost (jesus) twenty years after the show ended, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't like to fall in love with something new. It could happen! In the meantime, there's Channing Tatum. :D
Thanks, sweetie. *big hugs* It was good for me to reflect on this, because it really has been so different. My age and experience came into play more than I had realized. This time, I got to watch so many people discover the joy of their first fandom. You only get to fall in love for the first time once, but I did fall in love again, complicated as it ended up being. It was worth it, without a doubt.
So much of what you say here resonates with me, even though our experiences and trajectories (and interests!) in Glee fandom have been so different. Glee isn't one of the shows of my heart, but I have never 'shipped a pairing the way I 'ship Kurt/Blaine. And while the K/B fandom is probably going to simmer down a bit without new canon, I'm not worried that it's going anywhere anytime soon. (Though, wow, I am pre-emptively terrified of the babyfic explosion.) But I do think that I'll be feeling adrift for a while; I'm watching several shows I enjoy, but nothing that has grabbed my heart the way these two boys did
( ... )
*hugs* Thank you, friend. Yeah, we never know when love is coming around the corner. We were both surprised by this one. But we'll always have it, and our ships, no matter what.
Amusingly, the Faberry fandom may be reinvigorated by the same baby fic you fear, since Quinn did say she was donating the egg and Rachel is carrying the baby, which means Rachel is having Quinn's baby...?!?! ;-D
Our fandoms will carry on for as long as they can, and then we'll move on to something else. It's our way. For now, I hope there is still life in this yet, because I'm not ready to leave.

I THOUGHT OF THAT DURING THE EP! Oh lord. This show. The easter eggs in the last two eps were worth the cost of the ticket, for sure.
