Still very happy with this! Looking forward to the rewatch. Your slick cutting and command of internal motion never fail to impress me.

I've never seen the movie, but Milly tells me you basically created the ship and narrative through your presentation. Which, WHOA. I was completely sold. If the movie HAD been about this ship, it would still be an astounding vid. But when you're doing so much to actually *create* the narrative?? WOW. ... Stunning.

It is a stunning vid. Ripley's desire for Dickie is evident throughout the film - he wants to both be Dickie and be with Dickie. The extent to which Dickie knows about and is playing with Ripley's infatuation is open to interpretation.

Basically, as jarrow says, this vid makes a gay thing gayer (and a creepy thing creepier).

Beautiful work with the instrumentals.

Spot-on description of the movie, yes!

And thank you for the compliment :-)

Well, the movie largely IS about this ship, so I really didn't have to work hard at all. It's canon (one-sided, unrequited) and is all in there. I played with the narrative a little, but not too much. But glad you liked it all the same :-)

Never seen this film, but you did an incredible job in creating a lucid, and eerie tale of unrequited love and lust here. It was . . . yeah. Disturbing and absolutely riveting and the editing was, as always, perfection.

Whenever I hear this version of this song, I always think it's such a happy cover, so generally cheery and light--but no, not here. Here, it's OBSESSIVE and VIOLENT and CREEPY.

I mean, Matt Damon and his ~longing~ helps with that, but MOSTLY it's down to you and your editing. *g*

*Very* pretty motion and musicality, great pacing, and *great* narrative structure--I haven't seen the movie, and I would never have known that you weren't working with most, if not all the material it had to offer, storyline-wise. The relationship dynamics here are so clear, and their progressions so well-expressed, the vid certainly reads like you weren't working under any constraints at all.

I enjoyed this! :)

Thank you so much!! What a kind and thoughtful comment. The movie is seriously creepy, and it was fun tapping into that side of this piece of music to really draw out some depths and layers. It was a great source to work with, and I recommend checking it out! (There is indeed more to it than is shown here.) Thank you again for the lovely feedback!

I love the use of an instrumental version of a song a lot of people know the words to without hearing them. It adds an interesting level to the vid. Very effective pacing and clip choice, especially the way the murder scene plays out in the vid.

Thank you! I find myself singing along with the words sometimes, I confess. The murder scene was tricky to do! I am glad the vid worked for you!
