It was 2.7 degrees F last night (this morning) at breakfast. I thought it said 27, didn't really think much of it. It wasn't snowing. It got to -.4 last night, which is a rare thing in Idaho, going below zero. At least here. It was -24 (no decimal point) in McCall. I din realize it got that cold there. It snowed today. Three inches overnight. The roads were fine and clear for everyone coming to the LAN Party, but I made them all leave early in the morning before the temperature got warm enough that the powder snow turned into ice. It's snowing. Snowing. Really heavy. My prayers go out to those of you stuck out in it. Visibility was darned near 0 coming home, and our 3-ton, 4-wheel-drive suburban was slippin' all over the place. Gang, please don't try to come over. I dun wanna hafta have a funeral LAN Party... Well, it's...uhh...snowing. Packing at first, then powder, now it's about half and half wet and dry snow. If things keep up like this, I think we're gonn ahave snow that might stick for a day or two. But the south side looks a might warm for my tastes. We may just get a huge mudstorm. :-P

They predicted snow today. Two inches. There was a very lights dusting on the suburban when I woke up. nothing besides that. We'll see, though I think a certain weatherman is going to be very, very wrong. Well, I'm off to work here in a few minutes. The forcast on the news was for freezing temps tonight, but Yahoo says 44, so I dunno. Mom says that the last week of October should be the best time this year for enjoying the turning/turned leave and autumn colors. After that they all fall. The early tree are already turning, but they fall as they turn. :-P

Yeah, that's me. My interests are scattered and eclectic, and one of them happens to be meteorology. Well, weather anyways; I'll leave meteorology to the meteorologists. I'm interested enough that when my crop dusting friend comes on a bad storm, he calls me and asks me what it looks like. Or what I expect the surface winds in a given area to be. ( Read more... )
