About a week ago, I was helping a customer and Tim was doing something behind me (probably something lotto) when a lady came in and said, "I just ran into one of your pumps." I instantly responded with "If it's not on fire, you're good!" (To which she responded, "Well, I can light it ( Read more... )

More amusing than anything else. I guess if you can't laugh, all that's left is to cry, eh?

That didn't seem like such a flippant remark. I hear people say things like that all the time just to diffuse tension with a bit of humor. I'd think that would be preferable to most things you could say.

This happens more often or not. One of the reason they added that fuel shutoff knob. I assume it is also the reason why those metal panels are newer pumps are easily replaced. I do wonder who hits them more. Men or Woman. This is one of the reason I don't drive a brand new vehicle. We all make mistakes. One time I was going around this corner that is big time icey in winter. 5mph and still went sliding off. No big deal. Cars behind me stoped. The motor stopped. So I sat back and looked around. Turned the truck back on. Put it into 4 low and drove back up on the road. The people then continued on there way behind me. Got home and nothing more than a few scracthes on the skid plates and some paint sctrach. COuld be buffed out.
