The price is fuckin' ridiculous. It's 1995 all over again, and we're looking at $40 VHS tapes. >:\

You know my opinion about dubs. but not having that -option- is pretty unfortunate.

No dubs, no extra time spent on a release. No extras, no nothing.

Oh, wait. We might get extras like... some of the 'promotional' shit they do for releases in Japan. -.- Seriously, have you SEEN some of the 'promotional' shit they do (my Simoun 'extras,' let me show them you... -.- )?? I'd rather not have things like that, than have them tacked on as 'extras.'

And guess what else? So they use these overpriced, early-to-market releases to 'gauge the interest' in shows. If Shigofumi got a good enough reception, maybe, maybe a studio would say 'Okay, let's dub this show, put together some extras, put more episodes on a disc, and release them that way for a full release ( ... )

I understand why the high price--at least I think I do. Still, even if it "protects" the market for this stuff back there somehow, actions like this will probably "kill" stuff over here for us. No way am I buying a show for $40 for just two episodes (or perhaps just one)! I can live with waiting a bit longer between the japanese release and getting it locally if I get the option of a dub (my wife isn't too keen on listening to the japanese) and a decent price that I would even consider it. I know this all odd coming from someone who hasn't bought an anime in about two years, but wife and kids come first in the budget so I haven't had much choice....
