Here is, apparently, Molly Seagrim, looking much more serious than is her custom. She's looking for someone, in the main hallway, with no apparent success thus far.

It isn't, in fact, Molly... but given Molly's set of acquaintances, there are any number of people who might kiss first and discover crackplot second.

Tom is in a good mood for once. He has spent a long time out by himself in the woods, he's hunted, explored, he even has some stubble. All in all, quite the intrepid and happy Tom. So happy and back to normal that the first thing he does upon seeing Molly is kiss her. A very long and passionate kiss.

"Well, not exactly... I..." He sighs. "I've missed you. Both of you. But especially Richard."

Softly, "I've missed you too, Tom."

He smiles a little. "I even went hunting. Remember I promised to take you?"

She smiles, a bit, in return. "I didn't think it had gotten warm enough yet."

"Not really. But it's easier to see without many leaves, and some of the coats are nicer if that's what you're after." He's happy to go back to talking about something he knows.

She nods. "I've been taking a lot of walks, recently, just to get out and about." Sorry, Tom. This has to be very surreal.

Typist: Lalala. Pretending I don't fail. Lalala.

"Oh? Well... Well, that's good. I..." He pauses to think, chewing thoughtfully on his lip. "Might I kiss you again? Since you are Miss Seagrim just now."

T: I saw nothing.

She hesitates a moment, then says, "Yes, I suppose so."

Tom was primed for rejection, but recovers nicely. "I may?" He tries not to look too excited.

Quietly, "I'd hoped..." She stops. "Yes," she simply says, again.

He pauses. "You'd hoped what?"

She hesitates, then says, "I'd half hoped the reason I'd not seen you in so long is that you'd found someone else. Then only one of us..." She glances away. "I just want you to be happy, Tom."

Tom pauses again. "Then only one of us what? You keep not finishing your sentences."

[jarndyceheir]

Molly's face flushed, which was wrong, and her stance was all wrong too. "Then only one of us would still be upset about how things ended," Richard said, quietly.
