A confession

After talking to Ragnelle, Richard returns to talk to Ada. As much as he doesn't want to hurt her, he sees that it is only fair she know the truth. And so, with a hollow feeling in his stomach, he knocks on the door to his own room. "Ada?"

"Richard?" She's at the door at once, and has it open an instant later. "It is your room, you needn't knock."

"I...I didn't wish to startle you." He smiles, truly affectionate, but a bit shaky.

"Oh. Won't you sit?" she asks quickly, returning the smile.

"Of course, if you do."
