I've never understood the view that the sex industry is "exploitive". Women choose to sell their bodies. While it's true that sometimes that "choice" is based on the fact they need money for drugs, nobody forced them to take that first hit off the crack pipe, either. As a female, I have no problem with the idea of legalizing prostitution nationwide. Why shouldn't sex trade workers be entitled to the same protections as other, legal professions? I think most women go into the prostitution industry with their eyes wide open. Those who don't, get exactly what they deserve--and if that's "exploitive", so be it.
