So, yesterday I went to see my eye doctor for my semestral checkup. Lately he's been having me do a series of tests but so far hadn't changed my prescription, so I wasn't really worried. However yesterday he prescribed me some new eyedrops, aside from the ones I use on a regular basis to keep my eyes from drying out when I'm at the computer. We ( Read more... )

Araceli dear, I'm shocked for you! My sight is weak ever since birth. Last spring and in the autumn, I was at two courses for weak-sighted and blind people, and there, I met many who had glaucoma or other sicknesses. :(

Anyway, those people did manage with their vision problems. We supported each other very well. My thoughts are with you, and I'm delighted you were ready to tell us this. *Hugs*

Thank you very much for the virtual hugs :D *hugs back*

I'm much calmer now, I know that if I take good care of myself I can prevent the condition from appearing, it's just that the uncertainty of not knowing wheter I had it or not was VERY VERY drainning :P. If I have a serious disease, something that would become a life-changing event in my like, I'd like to know as soon as possible, to get the axe sooner than later, you know? So it was really all the wondering that had me pulling my hair off.

Funny thing is I've been using glasses since I was 3 (no kidding here), and I started doing the serious analisis because my mother suggested I could get eye surgery. I didn't feel very enthusiastic about it because I really, really like my glasses, and now lasik is no longer a choice for me, but thanks to that the doctor was able to notice there was something going on there.

How come you went to those courses? Is your eyesight alright?
