Seems you can't have your own series these days without being at least a little bit prickish, eh? ;) Thanks. :)

Tis true. Perfect characters (or the writers thinking they're perfect) get so very dull. I like my fucked up characters (or making them more so in fic). ;)

Perfection is boring and overrated and leads to Mary-Sueism anyway. ;) Give me crazy any day!

(Well, maybe not give *me* crazy, but. XD)

My fave bits:

"Does this Sam help you out around here?" Harry's mouth set in a disapproving line, and if anyone had told him it looked suspiciously like Aunt Petunia's habitual expression, he'd never have spoken to that person again, truth or not.

And:

Harry drew himself up to his full height, trying to make himself seem as adult as possible. Which wasn't terribly difficult, given his recent growth spurt and the fact his voice had finally levelled out to a reasonably masculine pitch, minus all the nasty cracking and squeaking it had been doing (of its own volition, of course) not so very long ago.

AHAHAHAHA, YES. I <3 your narrative voice. It's so very wry and unlike a lot of HP fic's schmultzy... schmultz. I also like how you take things that make absolute sense (i.e. Uncle Vernon putting Harry to work on installing televisions) and use them when thousands of people never bother and make up new stuff that just doesn't feel as rooted in the actual story they're fans of. And you're just doing little parodic snippets instead of ( ... )

Haha, thanks! :) You might guess I'm not terribly fond of schmultz myself. XD And I'm also a big fan of believable extrapolation. I mean, I think that anything can be made good if someone's managed to make you believe in it. Well, maybe I should say *almost* anything. ;) But making it believable is half the battle, especially with parody and humour, I feel. So what you've said here warms the cockles of my cold, cold heart. ;)

Do I hear the faint chimes of a challenge here???

Hmm.

Yeah, was chatting last night about this. Suspension of disbelief is possible, but only if you've got something to suspend it from. (Thinks rafters, chandeliers and nooses....)

Good fic, btw. Poor Harry having to fix Sam's mess....

(Sequel? *eg*)

Oho. Ohohohohohohoho. Wait till you lay eyes on what evil my brain cooked up this morning on the drive in. I was cackling evilly to myself in the car, and it's probably a good thing the windows were rolled up (as it was raining), else I may have caused accidents. ;) It's good. *nods*

I was thinking hospital sheets also work well for suspension. And neckties.

The next on the list is "Harry Potter And The Chamber Pot Of Secrets." And bloody hell, the lights just went out where I'm working! I wonder if this is a sign?!?!? The computer's still got power! :O

I wish I had seen LoM so I could read this.

I am ITCHING to read a good Maurauder's fanfic. Anything about Sirius, James, Remus, and Lily. No slash. Just good, old fashioned, wankage. COME OUT WITH THE NEW BOOK, DAMN YOU JK! I'm listening to Azkaban now and it's SO good. Ugh, dork is me. But it's while I'm cooking, so... I associate kinpira gobou with Remus building Neville's confidence with the Boggart. =D

Hahaha, who's reading the audiobook you've got? :)

You could read this, it won't spoil you. It'd be funnier of course if you'd seen LoM, but it shouldn't be a problem to read if you haven't. :)

it IS funnier after seeing LoM. I have one more episode of Season 2 left... ;_; There are only two seasons??

It's bloody brilliant, but I can't for the life of me understand everything being said.

((...can you??))

Yeah, but I do watch a lot of UK stuff, and a lot of Northern stuff at that. It's like learning Oosaka-ben. :) Plus, add in the pop-culture references to a culture whose pop you maybe aren't familiar with, and it's like you've landed on a different planet. :)

I'm really glad you've enjoyed it, and definitely look forward to hearing what you think once you've seen it all. :)
