Captain America and The Winter Soldier ramblings

Finally got into the cinema to see Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and now I have Things that need to go down somewhere... don't expect any logical sequence though, there are no neat segues ahead just some headings.

Steve RogersFirst off, Steve Rogers is absolutely my favourite character in the MCU, though fairly unexpectedly on my part. ( Read more... )

Hey dude, long time no see - are you still out in the States?

And thank you - it was a lot of effort to stop myself just writing "♥ Steeeeeeeeeve ♥" over and over and make proper sentences instead! At least we know there will be a few more films with Captain America coming at some point, even if it isn't near future - Chris Evans is signed for 6 isn't he? (Though I am slightly worried that at some point they are going to break our collective hearts and do the thing they did in one of the comic runs, and I will cry forever.)

Steve and Natasha have been my favourites since I saw Avengers, and they play so well off each other. :-) Mark me down as another one who loves that their relationship in the film was played as completely platonic, while happily shipping them off-screen.

Thank you very much for the Carrot parallel as well, I hadn't thought of it, but it is so very true.

They are just so good together, in every and all senses! (Which may have something to do with Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson being friends for years before joining the MCU, but I love it as a characterisation too.)

I had thought of the "simple doesn't mean stupid" parallel before myself and then forgotten until my friend brought it up, but CA:TWS really sold me on their similarities. They even have the same body shape!
