It was a normal evening in Sunnydale, California. Parents were tucking their children into bed, couples were enjoying one last glass of wine before bed...and Buffy was slaying.
"I told you before, Wil, the only way you're going to get Xander to notice that you're more than a buddy is to make the first move!" the young blonde woman said calmly as she traded blows with an ugly former human.
"But that's just it! How do I make the first move if he's so busy looking at all the other girls? You've gotta admit, Buffy, there are a lot of them."
"True, but there's the whole Willowness you've got going on," Buffy replied, jabbing her stake through the vampire's chest and stepping back as it disitegrated. "He'd have to be blind to miss that if you turn it on full blast."
"Yeah, never underestimate the power of the Willowness," another voice said.
Buffy spun around, stake at the ready. "Who's there?"
Two girls, one ginger and one brunette stepped out from behind a tree.
"You can put that down," the brunette said with a grin, motioning to the stake in Buffy's hand.
"Not until I see some proof that you're not undead."
"Um...and what would that be?"
Buffy frowned and lowered the stake. "Good point. Who are you?"
"I'm Sky and this is Willow."
The ginger-haired girl grinned. "Named after you of course, Rosenberg."
Willow frowned. "Okay. Buffy?"
"No idea what they're talking about, Wil."
"Sorry, we get that reaction a lot," the brunette said, plopping down on one of the headstones. "We're with the NFA, National Fangirl Association. We go around in different fandoms and right wrongs and such."
"Never heard of you."
She shrugged. "You probably wouldn't have. This is our first visit here. Now if you were in the Who fandom you'd probably know of us."
"Uh huh."
"Willow and I just decided to make a quick stop here on our way to Camelot. We just came from the Falcon so it's been a bit of a trip."
"I see," Buffy replied, eying the stake in her hand again.
The ginger rolled her eyes when she saw what Buffy was doing. "Don't worry, we'll be gone soon. I just wanted to see something."
"And what's that?"
"Willow's hair. I just love that we have the same color!"
The brunette grinned. "Okay, well now we've gotta go. Nice to meet you both!"
"Uh huh," the girls replied.
The brunette pressed a button on some kind of wristwatch and both girls disappeared in a flash of light.
Willow looked at Buffy. "Should we tell Giles?"
"Nah, he'd never believe us. That was way beyond bizzare," the Slayer replied, staking another vampire who had decided to attack.
