All was quiet in Torchwood Three. Everyone had gone home for the night. Even Ianto had finally put away the last teacup.
Only Captain Jack Harkness was still awake. And glancing at his watch every few minutes. And tapping his foot. And watching a certain spot in empty air.
Suddenly, he straightened up and assumed what he was sure would look like a threatening posture. At least, it had worked before with many alien species. Of course what he was waiting for wasn't your typical alien species.
A bright blue glow began to appear in the exact spot Jack had been watching only moments before. Loud giggling drifted from that area and the shapes of four human girls appeared. As the glow faded one of them stepped forward, holding out what looked like a large watch.
Jack snatched it out of her hand and fastened it firmly onto his wrist. He then stalked forward and glared down at three of the girls, managing to glance upwards at the other, who was at least three inches taller than he was. "You said sixteen-hundred."
The first girl glared right back. "It is sixteen-hundred, just not sixteen-hundred right here. You didn't specify which time zone so I assumed we'd go by the one we're from. Besides, we had fun."
"Where did you go?"
"Oh, to the mall and a little military base under Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado."
Jack stared. "You got into Stargate Command and didn't get caught?!"
"Oh, yes" the red-haired one said eagerly. "And we got to see Daniel!"
The first girl grinned. "Yes, Willow, we saw Daniel. And that's not all. Jack, you'll never guess who we ran into at the mall!"
He sighed. "Do I want to know?"
One of the other girls with long brown hair smiled. "I'll give you a hint: his name starts with 'Doc' and ends with 'ter'."
"What?!"
"Oh, yes, Captain Harkness," the tall girl said cheerfully. "We ran into the Doctor and Rose. Before he regenerated into that maniac. In fact, I'd say even before they met either you or Adam."
The brown-haired girl shoved at her. "Oi, I like Ten!"
"Yeah, yeah I know, but I just think Nine is a bit cooler. Not to mention, that leather jacket is nice!"
Jack smiled slightly. "Oh, yes it was..."
All four girls turned to glare at him. "Eww! Too much info, Jack!"
The leader of Torchwood rolled his eyes and pointed towards the door. "Now, you've had your fun, so go bother someone else for a while."
The four girls glanced at each other and burst out laughing. The first girl was the first to stop and walked towards him, stopping directly in front of his chest. "Now, now, Captain, have you forgotten our little agreement? You let us travel around with your vortex manipulator and we make sure Gwen stays away from Rhys. Would you rather we let her marry him?"
"No, but I don't like what you're planning to do with my vortex manipulator."
She smiled innocently and carefully unstrapped the device from his wrist. "Oh, come on, Jack, we know better than to make too much trouble. None of us want Reapers to show up!"
Stepping back, attaching the device to her own wrist, she blew him a kiss. "Good luck with Gwen tomorrow! We'll see you in a bit!" She pressed a few buttons and as the girls disappeared, Jack could hear them eagerly discussing where to go next.
Once they were completely gone, he wandered up to his office and sat down heavily in the chair. Picking up the phone he dialed a number he hardly ever called. "Hello, Doctor, it's me. Listen, you might want to be on the lookout for four teenage girls..."

Far away in the TARDIS the Doctor put down his phone and glanced warily around the console room. Not seeing anything he climbed down underneath the grating to do some repairs.
Unseen, four shadows slipped into the TARDIS' interior, a long-haired one pausing momentarily to smile at the small patch of wild, brown hair visible above the grating. Then all was normal in the TARDIS...for a while anyway...
