Four tomatoes and a bunch of figs. Grapes are slowly ripening but the heat has taken its toll. The fig, on the other hand, has done nothing but thrive.

There is nothing more decadent than a still-warm, perfectly ripe fig picked right off the tree. I'm so jealous;)

OMG figs!!! The fig tree I planted last year didn't survive our very mild winter. Not sure what that's about. Thankfully, given the drought and high temps I put off trying again this year. Next year, maybe?

Before you do away with it -- we called this fig tree "the stick" for several years, because it was literally just a stick in the mud ground. Then one spring it sprouted leaves, then grew a few tiny figs. Now it's a good size -- maybe 6-7' -- and it's covered in figs. So you never know!

Oh okay.

I've got a stick the city planted on the boulevard in front of my house that I've been babying due to the drought and outrageous temps but it's looking pretty sad.
