The stall in the weight loss isn't that uncommon, but I'm sorry about the constant hunger. That can really be a diet buster. I'd try some lean protein, like boneless, skinless chicken breasts. I think I told you that I season mine up and layer it in a crockpot. It stays nice and moist. If you want to stick to vegetarian there's always nuts (but not exactly low fat) or maybe edamame! I got a bag of frozen edamame and over roasted them tossed with spices. It was a pretty good snack and very healthy. You can probably find lots of recipes for them online. Are you drinking plenty of water? That can help stave off the hunger pangs just a little longer.

I just had two(!) scrambled eggs on a whole-wheat English muffin. Hoping that will help.

Plenty of water. Honestly -- plenty of FOOD. Ugh, I just posted to Sparkpeople, too, wondering if this is a sign of a nutritional need or just random killer hunger.

Off to the store shortly, and I will be getting chicken and I hope, a couple of bison filets. Hoping to make a 4-oz or so bison steak for lunch over some salad greens.

I wish I liked edamame, but I confess I can't stand it. Which is weird, because I usually like legumes! But something about the taste puts me off, no idea what precisely it is.

Oh yes. I feel the absolutely same way without meat. I don't eat meat very often, but sometimes it's just this all encompassing NEED (shakes and all) and nothing I eat is as satisfying as a piece of meat. Perhaps schedule it in maybe once a month or twice a month will help? (As an aside, I don't know if it's really the protein per se since eggs, soy none of that does it for me - it has to be actual meat).

I'm so glad someone else gets this way -- I wondered if maybe I wasn't losing my mind. *g* I just had two eggs with an English muffin (whole wheat) and feel okay, but not GREAT. And I'm feeling hungry again, just the start of it. Ugh, it feels insane -- how could I be hungry? I JUST. ATE.

Will pick up -- I hope, if they have them -- bison steaks; they're modestly sized and quite lean. And I'm thinking of roasting a chicken, so that I'll have the meat for this coming week. I don't plan to eat meat with every meal, but until I feel better I'll probably add it in where I can.

*hugs* Not losing you're mind. ;)

Hopefully the meat will help and having some on hand sounds like a good idea. I enjoy chicken with salad every now and then or a nice lean ground beef hamburger barbequed, or homemade tacos. *laughs* I'm making myself hungry. =P Good luck hon!

1) Make sure you're watching inches as much as the scale. If you haven't taken baseline measurements of major body parts, do so. Make sure you can give yourself credit for the progress you are making.

2) Pro-biotics. We use Ultimate 10 from the Vitamin Store. It really made a difference both in weight and general health/illnesses. We were getting sick all the time and not losing weight and since we started taking them we've been losing weight and feeling healthier. I even put Sami on a children's version and she's finally gotten over her chronic sinus infection.

3) Egg whites with slice tomato and fresh basil. The protein will really really help with the hunger. Egg yolks not so much. I haven't noticed much of a difference between the cartons of egg white brands. It's quick and easy and not stupidly-expensive.

Good luck and don't give up.

Also, I've found getting into Hockey fandom has been very good for my diet/fitness motivation. :) Reading about characters who's personal fitness is the source of their livelihoods is a nice push in the right direction.
