Not officially part of the birthday-verse.

A couple of folks expressed some interest in a story wherein the birthday-verse Dean and Sam meet up again with John. There is such an animal, but I am dissatisfied with it, always have been; it doesn't match up sufficiently well with the verse canon, skewed as it admittedly is. I wrote it ages upon ages ago, but it's what stalled me; I could never ( Read more... )

This is awesome! I love the idea of Dean being excited about the baby and I would love to see this Dean as a big brother. Sam and Dean not getting along makes me sad though. I feel so sorry for Sam.

The birthday-verse is one of my favorite SPN fanfics ever. So it's really nice to revisit it, here.

In fact, since you've "re-wetted my whistle", I may just have to go back and reread the whole thing. *g*

And now I've read all the comments (it's great to get your insight into the 'verse-- where you thought it might go, how you got stuck on two different paths, what you think John might have been feeling as he left it to Sam to raise Dean), and I see you said:
The end to their happy normal lives, most likely, but still -- they're Winchesters, right?Aw, I hate to think of this Dean being stripped of that normal, happy life, even though I know one part of him craves hunting (he did teach himself to shoot, after all, and beg Sam to let him help). So I hope if you get them more involved with John, and the hunt, it doesn't mean they end up back on the road, full-time ( ... )

Really wasn't expecting that ending! Think I need to lie down to recover!

Damn, girl, kill me why dontcha?!

I have no other words.... okay, I do. I think I might be the only person here who doesn't want a sequel! But only because these are the Winchesters after all, fucked up and so very damaged and this, this ending was one of triumph, something we haven't seen or felt in oh, so, very long. I need that for them, so thank-you ♥

And you know? This ending (with or without Dean's regression *g*), would make a damn fine series ender to me. Perfect, in fact. I suspect... like you, if you continue with this storyline, Kripke won't be nearly as charitable though ;).

Awesome work, Em. Fantastic!
