HAH! One down! This is two for one, y'all, get it while it's hot. Wheeee! And triple thanks to innie_darling, who betaed BOTH tonight, bless her soul. And thanks to y'all for reading. *hugs*
Oh..when Gib was telling him how GOOD he was...how he was a born leader...all that love and gratitude and aknowledgement...sniffles. Oh, Dean...go back!!
Oh, MAN! The ending of this just quietly wrenches my heart out. The next October, will that be the one when John goes missing and everything start going to hell? Damn Dean, as much as the hunt is so much his fate that it's in his blood, this story really makes me want to see him make that other choice.
And The Big Valley? :D Since I got a DVR set top box a while ago, I've been recording and watching that every Saturday afternoon thanks to your stories. What a great show!
Sadly, the sinking of the Big Valley really happened in Jan 05. Right at the start of opie season. I always wondered what if that had been one of the boats with a camera crew. They did some interviewing with the BV's skipper before they left Dutch. ::sigh::
So achingly perfect. Thank you for finishing this story.
You know, I'd love to see Dean back in this universe when Sam's with him...Sam getting to see a whole side to Dean that he didn't know existed...and an understanding of where the money came from...as opposed to where he thought it came from.
Yaaaaay. This deep-sea fishing 'verse is a lot of fun but also, oh. The gap left by Sam's absence, Dean isn't all broken but Sam absence is important, and then you have this easy yet tenuous relationship between Dean and John; and then Dean as part of a TEAM, Dean as a potential leader and a Dean with options other than hunting (with John and Sam no less important). Gets me where I live.
I really like how this flows, the real feeling of it, the dialogue and somehow it seems like you didn't spend a lot of time on description yet I got a strong picture and feel for it, the smells and the ship and the cold.
