Oookay. I sadly won't have a review for at least a couple of days because my camera died and I couldn't take any pictures myself so my friends are the ones who have said pictures, but since they went to the following date too I'll have to wait until they come back and pass me at least the stuff where I'm present.

But, it suffices to say that while ( Read more... )

Yay! Concerts are such a fantastic high ... there's nothing like it! And WOW -- can't say I'm familiar with him (should I be, though?) -- but that's so, so awesome you actually got to meet (and touch!) him. Woot!

I got to meet one of my favourite Canadian singer-songwriters a couple weeks ago, and I just went braindead, lol. I think I said a total of 10 words. (And didn't help that he's even more smokin' hot up close than he is from the stage! ;P)

Hee, well, he's the former bassist from the original Guns n' Roses, I guess you're familiar with him if you're familiar with the group pre-1994, but I'm also kinda on the weird side because Slash and Axl get a lot more fans. But I always was fond of him mostly, so.. ;) And yeah, I MET AND TOUCHED AND OMG. *flails*

And well, it's kinda the effect it'd have had with me if the guy hadn't been completely easy/casual. I mean, when one goes and shakes your hand on his impulse you go with it, lol, but I can think about at least fifteen people in front of whom I'd probably couldn't open my mouth. And who is he now? I need to know at this point. ;)

Ohhh, hence why I wouldn't know him, lol. (Never jumped on the Guns n' Roses bandwagon, really. *am embarrassed musical knowledge is so weak*)

But yay anyway! So fantastic! And what a great guy -- and appreciative of his fans -- to come out and meet all of you.

Oh, his name is Royal Wood ... he's like Ron Sexsmith, with more piano? (If that helps at all, I'm not sure, haha.) I really, really dig his stuff (I actually might use one of his songs as the first dance at my wedding!), and I got to see him play recently, and then when I went up to the merch table to buy his latest EP, he just materialized out of nowhere! I was SO not prepared, lol. So I just made some weird noises and managed to stammer out a request for an autograph and "that was a really great set" and then scurried away. The worst part is he was so friendly he probably would have been up for a nice chat, but I was too lame! ;D

Ha, well, when it happens like that I can only understand that you'd go for the weird noise. ;) Also, I googled him and woah, he's pretty hot! He looks a bit like Edward Norton or so it seems to me, which is never bad. And ha, we're all lame when not prepared. ;)

And I can't really blame you for not jumping on the bandwagon, GNR were a great group but considering the fallout they had it's just good for your mental sanity. ;) Actually I got into GNR because of him mostly (I liked another group he's in right now before liking GNR), so my process was probably weird, but ha, he's awesome. And really appreciative indeed, I'd have expected to be way, way more freaked out. But he was so easy that I really wasn't that much.

I had to google Duff McGagan cuz I had no idea who he was, though apparently he is from Seattle. Anyway, glad you had a good time at the concert!

Ha, well, he really wasn't Guns n' Roses' most shining star but he has always been my favorite. ;) And yeah, he's from Seattle! I think he also wrote a song about Seattle, if I remember right. And thanks, I really did!
