I'm having a doubt of hamletic proportions.

No, seriously. I realized I need to know this for some point in the nano novel and since in fic I always found either options and I never had a clear idea about it, uhm, yeah, I'm doing a poll. Considering that I'm writing an AU where Jack is still a doctor, still had an high-class upbringing and he still plays the piano, so not really that ( Read more... )

poll, doubts of hamletic proportions, jack is love

LOL well, that's kind of my opinion ;) though since once I wrote him being completely unable to dance and someone told me that she always thought the contrary I figured I could ask ;) thanks for the opinion! ;)

I picture Jack able to dance anything that needs the man to look "stiff" (waltz, fox trot, maybe even tango and rock and roll if it's the spinning the girl around) but absolutely NOTHING that involves hip action or looking relaxed!!! (salsa, merengue or casual club dancing)

That's a good point! I'll definitely keep it in mind, looks like a plausible option. To be honest I don't have an idea of when I'll need it, but has to come into the picture sooner or later ;) thanks again!

I don't think the man can sing or even would sing if he could. I don't think he can dance but if he had a good teacher, he could follow.

I never pictured him as a dancer/singer either to be honest, but once in some feedback someone told me that she thought he would have been good, so I figured I could see what was the general opinion. I don't think he would if he could either, he just doesn't look like the type. Thanks!

Jack just doesn't look like the type to be a good dancer or singer. I think he could manage to barely avoid embarrassing himself when dancing - as long as it's something with set steps that doesn't call for lots of acrobatics (not tango, for example). As for singing, I just can't picture him singing unless he's a bit tipsy and he's singing along with somebody else leading.

Ha, I'm surely not planning to have the poor guy dancing tango ;) though yeah, I'm pretty much of your same opinion. And I want to put 'only if he's drunk' as an option for the singing question but then let that go. Thank you, this was helpful!

I am completely with you. For me.. well, dancing and/or singing wouldn't exactly be what he's born to do or anything. I used to play a couple of instruments and while I never was too good at it I could follow even if I can't sing or dance, forbid it, but maybe since it looks like he's way better than I am at piano he might have developed an ear. But I really can't picture him to be a good singer or anywhere near proficient in dancing.
