"I'm never a fan of one character keeping information back from another character in books, and I wish this wasn't a plot device used here."
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one! I personally *hate* this. I get so frustrated with the characters and the author - it seems like a copout, too lazy.
At least in this book we have Percy and the Guard ASKING for the information outright and the other spirit Guard saying "sorry no and this is why".
Sometimes the reason for holding back information is much more annoying like "you should know this so I won't explain it to you" .. or "after everything is done you'll realize that I withheld something that would have solved everything 100 pages ago". Ooh that drives me crazy!
