ESquire, my husband likes it and it got me hooked pretty quickly. We've been reading it for 10 years now. It's smart and funny and a lot of things I wish women's magazines would be.

National Geographic and some Photog mags

Also, Gourmet, which has now, sadly, been 'retired' and Dwell is an occasional treat.

Esquire? Really? See, I had always lumped that in with the "questionable" men's magazines (not that I'm judging, I'm just saying you shouldn't get those subscriptions delivered to the office or anything), but perhaps I've been too quick to judge. What makes it smart/funny?

Great writers. They've often feature Mary-Louise Parker and all her wit & wisdom. I always like their reg essay ' a thousand words about culture' and 'what I've learned' is an absolute favourite one page read ( ... )
