Doctor Who: 4.1 "Partners in Crime"

Apr 07, 2008 02:41

I have a Torchwood post-mortem planned, but every time I sit down to discuss it I end up yelling and frothing incoherently and I have to go sit someplace dark until I calm down again.

Episode discussion under here. )

True, otherwise she'd be a smear of guava jelly next to Miss Foster.

I should probably find some Donna icons. It's only fair.

I enjoyed it, at least semi-refreshing from the crap we saw in Battlestar and the emotional roller-coaster from Torchwood. (Although now that it's been a day, Battlestar is starting to seem less absurd)

The mime-scene was fantastic, and I loved that nanny. Plus yes, those baby fat thingies were great. The Doctor should have kept that sonic screwdriver!

Eh, if he needs another one he can just stop off at whatever Sonic Screwdriver-Mart he's been going to to buy replacements, since we've seen at least two break or get lost, plus there's the sonic lipstick he gave Sarah Jane ( ... )

I was rather pleased with this ep of Dr. Who. I could have done without Rose, but meh, whatevs.

I like Donna. She's not Martha awesome, but she's good.

The little baby Adipose were cute. I want one too.

I'm really trying to be fair about the Rose thing. I'll readily admit that I'm a much bigger Martha fan than I ever was a Rose fan, and thanks to -- in no particular order -- S2, "Doomsday", the Rose vs. Martha battles, and the behavior of Rose's fans, I have some serious issues with Rose. But I know not all those things are Rusty's fault. Plus I was rewatching some of S1 and S2 and I was reminded that I did like Rose once upon a time. So basically right now, while I'm not exactly turning cartwheels over Rose's return, I'm also going to give Rusty a chance to impress me. Who knows, maybe he really will be able to come up with some super-excellent nifty reason for Rose to return that doesn't leave me howling in outrage ( ... )

To be fair, it's more the Rosefen's fault that I don't like Rose. I loved Rose in S1, tolerated her in S2, and now, I can't stand her because of the Rosefen. Damn.

Crochet patterns? LOL. That's awesome.

Okay, so there's not actually a pattern attached, but I present: crochet Adipose. I'm also starting to see icons percolating through LJ. The next step, clearly, is officially licensed rubber toys that squeak when you squeeze them.

Damn. That pretty much parallels how I feel about Rose. I liked S1 Rose, but S2 Rose had me tearing my hair out by the end of the season. The Smugness Brigade thing, the way she treated Mickey, the ridiculously OTT way the Doctor reacted anytime she was in trouble . . . and then of course the way she was used to bludgeon Martha over the head for the first half of the season ( ... )
