I think the best part of this entry is that this hasn't killed our your holiday spirit -- Or your spirit at all -- Even though the virus sucks. Instead, you're treating it like a minor annoyance.
You know me, I just love Christmas regardless of what's going on. There's only 10 days left and then it will be gone. Old resents given, new presents opened. Holiday music will be gone. Tree will be useless. And there will be NO logical reason to have snow because a White Christmas will have passed. Why not take it while you can.
This sounds terrifying. I hate hospitals and I've never even had to spend the night in one. If this happened to me I'd spend the whole time flailing and whining that I was "probably dying," etc (aka being a huge drama queen). Kudos to you for NOT doing that. And also for miraculously maintaining your holiday spirit ... which I seem to be sorely lacking in this year.
I hate hospitals too, despite working in one. I can tell myself it's ok to work there since I'm not actually a pt.
I'm shocked I didn't flip. Everything they said at the ER made sense to me tho. The virus had already hit BI, I work there, I got it. Bleeding was from my stomach being worn down from all the "activity". Fluids were low from not drinking enough.
I did get emotional with my mom after they said I was staying.I've NEVER stayed in a hospital, I hadn't really slept more than 5hrs in the previous 48, the bed was too high for me to get into and the TP in the Observation unit sucked. Seriously, I could see through it. I've decorated with party steamers more stable. I just all hit at once. Soon as I was settled down again she went home and picked up my teddy bear and ultra soft TP and that just made almost everything better.
