I'm just super aware of posters/ads/movies/shows that STILL portray the "nuclear family" as the ultimate goal in life. I really hate it when it's kind of shoved down our throats. Girls are most likely to be asked when they'll find a boyfriend (emphasis on BOY) and if they're in their early 30s, people start getting worried about you, "omg, why isn't she married yet" and all that jazz, whereas if a guy is still unmarried (I have an issue with marriage as well, but let's not get into that today), family members will just laugh it off as though he hasn't matured yet or he's focusing on his career. UGHHH. Hate.
This rant went on such a tangent here, but yeah, you get my point. :P

We spent it in town, webcammed with my sister and her family in the UK, then went home. It wasn't a special day - just a day stuff was closed.
I like it 'cos I need the holiday in February. So blah and boring, and sometimes Easter is too far away. But I hear you with it being called "family", but they had to give it a name, and I guess since other provinces/territories have that day as 'family' day....
