I did, indeed, get a B on my Language & Culture midterm. 88%. Not fantastic, but the class average was 68 and the high was somewhere in the low nineties, so once she curves things out at the end of the semester it might morph into an A- instead of a B. Woot!

god loves me, school, i'm clever

Aha. Yes, that does look like it's easier to get an A. Ours goes in batches of ten. Nineties are A's, eighties are B's, etc. Sixties are D's and are sort of... passing-but-not-really, since in order to get credit toward graduation it requires at least a C, so one most often has to retake classes that resulted in a D. Fifties and below are F's. I think D's are there as a middle ground so that there's something to give people who might have tried and just (for one reason or another) completely missed the mark and didn't really learn the material, whereas F's are like one didn't even try (never came to class, didn't do homework, etc).

Thank you. I _have_ had a remarkably good semester. I'm not quite as "omg I am a paragon of academic virtue" as I was at the beginning of the semester, but I'm still marveling at my brain's long overdue return to functionality.

EDIT: edited just 'cause I can. Woot!
