It's funny how sometimes those things can be right on - makes you want to go out and plant a Hornbeam tree in your yard!
Pretty good on the taxes; you still have two weeks to go! Good luck with the Philly tax; city and county taxes are the most convoluted at times, and the tax people in my experience act like they are lords of a fiefdom or something.
I wish the weekends would dry out so I could get started on my yard, too. I need to rake up last years mulch, and decide what I'm going to plant this year. I'm an annual girl, because I get bored easily and usually plant something different each year. I may give roses a try in my two containers in the front; I've been hesitating because my perception is they're hard to take care of, but I've heard from some green thumb coworkers that's not necessarily true so I may search out a hardy breed and give it a shot. Do you have an experience or advice you can give me?
I think roses are hard to take care of. I have one in front, and I just pruned the heck out of it, since it tried to take over last year. But it gets black spot and all sorts of rose diseases, and I don't like to spray. Maybe I just don't have the right kind.
Ok, that does scare me a little since I don't want to invest a whole lot of time on plants. I'm usually very energetic the beginning of spring, mulching and planting, but when the heat of summer hits all I want to do is cut the lawn and water.
Yeah, all my gardening fervor seems to evaporate by July, and that's just when all the weeds take over. Last year they completely overwhelmed things. This year I'm going to price getting a load of mulch delivered, try to be a little proactive while it's still nice weather.
My next show will be Balticon, Memorial Day weekend in Baltimore. I think Rebecca is going to try and go.
